NEW JERSEY CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT

NEW JERSEY CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT

Exciting news, we are now set up to offer the New Jersey Concealed Carry Qualifications for students. The New Jersey State Police have certified us as an Instructors. Prior to taking the qualification course, students must provide proof of completion of a Firearms Safety Course like the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course-Instructor Led Only. We will not admit students who do not have a Firearms Safety Course that includes a firing qualification. (Military or Retired Military Identification will be accepted as satisfying this requirement.) The course is similar to the requirements that our Law Enforcement must go through. The entire course consists of a shooting qualification that each student must score 40 out of 50 rounds striking the target. This course of fire consists of strings of shooting from the 1 yard line all the way out to 25 yards. Each student must score a minimum of 40 out of 50 for our instructor’s to sign off on the qualification. Students are also required to qualify to fire a 40 round low light qualification where students need to score a minimum of 32 out of 40 rounds striking the target. The low light course of fire ranges from the 1 yard line out to the 15 yard line. The target consists of the outline of a human body with a “Q” in the center. This type of target is referred to as the “FBI Q Target.” For the range qualification, students must bring with them each firearm that they intend to conceal carry along with 90 rounds of ammunition for each firearm. Students will be expected to complete the day fire qualification and the low light/night time qualificatin course. Each student has one chance to qualify with us. If the student does not pass the qualification, you will not receive a refund and you must re-take the course in order to receive your qualification. All students are required to provide a copy of their Firearms Identification Card.

The other requirement to pass the Concealed Carry Permit Qualification is to take a Use of Force class that consists of about a half hour lecture on the Use of Force guidelines given by the New Jersey Attorney General’s office. With this course, students will receive a printed copy of our powerpoint presentation. Once satisfying these requirements, then the students will receive the required form signed by the instructor. We will also keep a record of each qualification record.

Skills Learned:

Each student will demonstrate to the instructor their ability to safely and accurately complete the qualification course reaching a minimum score of 40 rounds inside the outline of the “Q Target” for the daytime qualification and a minimum score of 32 rounds inside the outline of the “Q Target” for the low light qualification. Students will also demonstrate safely and accurately drawing from a concealed carry holster sized for the firearm they are qualifying with. Students will also learn the Attorney General’s guidelines regarding the Use of Force and will receive a printout of the powerpoint presentation. Upon completion of the qualification course and the classroom instruction, the student must pass a written test scoring 100 percent. Then the instructor will fill out a copy of the New Jersey Retired Law Enforcement Officer Firearms Training record, which will be used by the student to submit with their concealed carry permit application to the State Police.
