While I’m interested in a course like this, a 9 hour stretch is very unrealistic for many people (for example myself, a single parent). It’s also very hard to retain 9 hours worth of information in one shot like that. I respectfully suggest considering 3×3 hour courses or something along those lines if possible!
Dear Mr. Schroeder,
Thank you for the honest and thoughtful feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and we understand the challenges of committing to a full 9 hour trianing course, especially for single parents and those with very demanding schedules.
At American Firearms Instruction LLC, we are committed to making our courses as effective and accessible to a wide range of participants/students. Your suggestion of breaking down the course into three 3-hour sessions is a great idea. Unfortunately, the issue we would run into with the venue regarding course scheduling is that the venue that we use for the classroom portion of the course requires a minimum timeframe for the fee. If we were to break the course down into three seperate days, the fee for the venue rental would be tripled. This would not be cost effective for our students or for our company. We would need to raise the cost of the course for the students.
Typically our courses do not run for the full 9 hours, but it does happen occaisionally. The length of the course mostly depends on the number of students in the course and their skill levels. We not only deal with students who are new to the shooting sports, but we also have experienced students. We will be exploring the possibility of more flexible scheduling with our venue in the near future to adress those students who may have a demanding schedule. Your experience and insight are exactly what help us improve our services to our students. Thanks again for reaching out and for your interest in the course. I hope we will have the opportunity to work together soon.
Respectfully,
Thomas J. Wilson
