Democrats and Liberals will do anything to push their agendas and beliefs down American Citizens throats. In an article posted in the Daily Beast in California, written by Jamie Ross, the Heading of the article is San Jose will force Gun Owners to cover costs of Gun Violence after Mass Shooting. This is in response to the San Jose light-rail yard shooting five weeks ago that left nine people deceased. I guess next we will make all drivers be responsible for those that drink and drive and cause accidents and death. Which is an epidemic in this country.
According to the article, on Tuesday night, the San Jose City Council unanimously voted and approved our nations first which would force gun owners to compensate taxpayers for the spiraling costs of gun violence. According to the San Fransisco Chronicle, gun owners will be required to get liability insurance for their firearms and pay an annual tax that will help fund emergency responses to gun related calls.
What an idea. Maybe we should do this with drunk drivers. Drunk drivers cause more than 10,000 deaths a year and cost more than $44 billion in deaths and damages annually. San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo stated, “While the Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms, it does not require taxpayers to subsidize gun ownership… We won’t magically end gun violence, but we stop paying for it. We can also better care for its victims, and reduce gun-related injuries and death.” Ok, Mr. Mayor. So, another words basically what you are saying is that legal gun owners and law abiding citizens of this country must pay for what criminals do? This is such a genius solution. Why don’t we just enforce the laws that are already enacted and punish those who commit crime? Now that would be a novel idea.
This is not the first gun control proposal enacted since the shooting. San Jose officials also passed a law that requires all firearms vendors record all firearm purchases on camera so that it is easier to trace firearms owners. Let this sink in. If it can happen in California, it can happen anywhere. Democrats and liberals want our firearms. The only rights that you have are the ones that you can defend.
