Sanctuary Cities!!!!

For those who were unaware, the Democrats allowing for Illegal Immigrants the ability to undermine our laws in this country by creating “Sanctuary Cities,” have actually sparked a great idea in Virginia. Apparently, Virginia has been trying to jump on the band wagon of anti-gun activists out there that actually believe the answer to the mass shootings that have been happening is to introduce and make new laws that take away our Second Amendment Right to bear arms. See the whole problem that these activists do not understand is that criminals do not follow laws. So, by introducing new and more restrictive gun laws only affect law abiding gun owners. See, this is actually how they want to keep controlling society, by enacting laws that in no way shape or form will combat crime and the crime rates in this country or in any state. It has already been statistically proven. Just check on some of our posts. The FBI has just released the 2018 Crime Report, and low and behold, the anti-gun activists who have been stating that the rise in crime in this country is due to less strict gun laws in this country. Well, we have news for all of you anti-gun activists, for the second year in a row, crime rates have fallen. Let us say that again, even though we need more strict gun laws in this country, according to the anti-gun activists, the crime rate in this country has fallen for the second straight year in a row. Let that sink in.

With all of this being said, Virginia has come up with a great way to turn the tables on the anti-gun activists. On Monday, December 09, 2019, Buckingham County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to pass a Second Amendment Sanctuary City resolution at a meeting in Buckingham , Virginia. According to the article, ” A standing-room only crowd of more than 400 packed the meeting room, filled the lobby and spilled into the parking lot recently in rural Buckingham County, Virginia. They had one thing on their minds: guns. The vast majority favored a proposal to protect their right to carry firearms: declaring the county a Second Amendment Sanctuary. Similar scenes have played out across Virginia over the last six weeks. Gun owners are descending on local offices to demand that their government leaders establish sanctuaries for gun rights. The resolutions, promoted heavily by the gun rights group Virginia Citizens Defense League, vary from county to county, but most declare the intention of local officials to oppose any “unconstitutional restrictions” on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. In the last two months, more than 100 counties, cities and towns in Virginia have approved such resolutions.”

This movement has not only been seen in Virginia. This movement was started last year in Illinois, and has spread like wildfire to numerous states, including California, Colorado, New Mexico and Florida. Democrats seem to have backed stricter gun laws in recent years. The Second Amendment Sanctuary movement began after Democrats promising new gun control laws took over both chambers of the state legislature in the Nov. 5 election. These calls for new gun laws and gun control proposals gained support after a shooter killed 12 people and injured four others at a Virginia Beach municipal building in May. But a special legislative session called by Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam after the mass shooting failed to produce any new gun control bills when Republicans shut it down after just 90 minutes.

Gun control advocates are now proposing new restrictions, including universal background checks, assault weapon bans and unconstitutional red flag laws that would allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed dangerous to themselves or others. One proposal in particular introduced by incoming Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw has enraged gun rights advocates and helped fuel the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement. The bill, as initially proposed, would make it a felony to sell, manufacture, purchase or possess assault weapons and certain magazines. Saslaw has since said that allowing current owners to keep their weapons is a good idea and he would  amend the bill. Jake Eubanks, of Buckingham County stated “We have the right to defend our household and we have the right to defend ourselves-period.” The officials of this county have approved the sanctuary resolution earlier this month. The reason for this type of sentiment is because most of these people have grown up hunting and care about their guns. Darrell Miller, “For whatever reasons, people, especially in these communities, have a deep-seated fear that universal firearm confiscation is just around the corner. ”

David Campbell, vice chairman of the Effingham County Board in Illinois, said his county was one of the first in the nation to pass a Second Amendment Sanctuary resolution in April 2018. Campbell said he and a local prosecutor chose the word “sanctuary” as a swipe at Democratic leaders who used the word to describe their refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement in the “sanctuary cities” movement. “We thought, well, if they can do that, why can’t we make Effingham County a sanctuary for legal, law-abiding gun owners?” Campbell said.“What it’s designed to do is to send a message to our legislators letting them know we are not going to stand for unconstitutional laws being passed like they are trying to do,” Campbell said.

One of the advocates for the new gun laws, Marie Flowers stated, “Nobody’s freedom is being taken away except for these people who are being murdered.” This is how far out of touch with reality these gun control advocates are. The Constitution of these United States of America states in the Second Amendment, that we have the right to keep and bear arms. So if you are trying to restrict this right, then you are taking away someone’s freedom.
